Beans & Dreams: Nektarios Place is more than a coffee shop, it is a bean of hope. Nektario’s dream was to have his own coffee shop, a dream that has become a reality at Beans & Dreams Nektarios Place. He is our CEO and inspiration. Building a community from the inside, Beans & Dreams is collaborating with Middletown high school to incorporate training classes for individuals enrolled in special education. The training includes a mock café at the high school, teaching students employee duties such as running the register, fulling orders, and interacting with customs. In parallel, students will take fieldtrips to the café, where they can practice new skills, gain experience, and transition into the workforce. By employing individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, Beans & Dreams' goal is to unite local communities in supporting young adults with disabilities as they pursue their inherent civil liberties—life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Welcome to The Main Cup, Restaurant & Bar The Main Cup is located in Historic Downtown Middletown, Maryland. Its name is derived from the building's history which began over 100 years ago when C.F. Main began making and selling ice cream here. Main's Ice Cream and Butcher Shop became a Maryland institution as the business grew regionally. Presidents and state officials were known to stop at Main's on their way to Shangri-La, now known as Camp David. Ice cream was last churned here in 1969 and the Main family subsequently sold the factory. The Main Cup is proud to be the new owner of this historic landmark once again serving the community and establishing itself as Middletown's gathering place. With our humble beginning as a coffeehouse in the spring of 2007, in only a year we have become a full service restaurant offering patrons some of the best made-to-order casual gourmet fare in Frederick County...
The Little Red Barn Ice Cream Café serves Hershey's and locally made South Mountain Creamery hand dip ice cream as well as Potomac Farms soft serve in cups, cones, sundaes and milkshakes.We also serve sandwiches, salads, soups, chili and locally roasted coffees and espresso drinks. There is inside seating in a cozy renovated historic barn and a outdoor patio. Located in the heart of Jefferson, Maryland right off Route 340, it's a nice place for a casual meal, ice cream treat, or coffee with friends and family. Carry-out is available too.
