Pace School
Pace School is a private, nonprofit day school for mentally challenged children and adolescents. It provides educational programs and mental health services to students in grades kindergarten through eight. It serves students who are educationally diagnosed with emotional disturbance, autism and pervasive developmental delay. It also provides training to school and mental health personnel in areas that include data-driven decision making, behavior management, curriculum-based measurement, psychiatric functioning and systems integration. The school is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the State Board of Private Academic Schools. The school was established in 1967, and is located in Pittsburgh.
Keystone Oaks High School, located in Pittsburgh, offers educational services to students in grades nine through 12. The school s more than 40-acre campus includes computer labs, an all weather track, tennis courts, a varsity softball field, a jogging trail, practice fields and a planetarium. Its curriculum includes English, social studies, math, science, physical education, health, composition and computer. It has various departments, including business, guidance, library and technology. It provides students various opportunities in the arts, athletics and extracurricular activities. Its adventure club offers field trips and activities, such as paintball, haunted house, skiing, snowboarding, amusement parks and horse riding. Its art club is for students who want to pursue their art interests. Its best buddy club provides the opportunity to develop friendships, mentoring and peer interactions involving other students with special needs.
