Laura Speed Elliott Middle School offers courses in English, social studies, math, physical education and science to students in grades six through eight. It maintains a media center that features a collection of books and audiovisual materials and equipment. The school provides various programs for gifted children, as well as several vocational courses. Its counselors offer information on scholarship programs and other topics, such as personal and career development. Laura Speed Elliott Middle School also provides programs in art, communication arts and music. The school s sports activities include football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, track and field and squad. It maintains a student council and parent-teacher association, as well as a cafeteria that serves a variety of food items and dishes.
