I create a kind, patient, and encouraging learning environment, lessons are personalized to each student's needs, I focus on building confidence, not just getting the right answers, I will make learning fun, engaging, and less stressful, I take time to explain concepts in different ways until they make sense, I celebrate every improvement, big or small. At Savannah's Smart Start Tutoring, I believe every child learns differently. I will take the time to understand each student's strengths and challenges so they can learn in a way that works best for them. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to help them become confident, independent learners who believe in themselves. As a student myself, I understand that learning isn't always easy. I know what it's feels like to get stuck, and I enjoy helping younger students understand concepts in a way that's simple, encouraging, and fun.

I'm Andreas, a Chicago-based tutor in math and science for high school students, with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and a 519 on the MCAT. What makes my tutoring different is that I learned how to study the hard way. I took the MCAT twice. My first score was a 513, and instead of just studying more, I tore my approach down and rebuilt it, which is how I got to 519. That trial and error taught me what actually moves a score and what only feels productive, like rereading notes for weeks without testing yourself. I bring those lessons into every session, so students learn the material and also how to study it. For the past year I've tutored high school students one-on-one, usually over months rather than a single cram session. When a student is stuck, the real gap is often two or three concepts earlier than the homework, so I start by finding it and rebuild from there with a plan written for that student. I've worked with students with ADHD, OCD, and autism, and I adjust pacing and structure to how each one learns best. My science background goes beyond the classroom: I've done diabetes research in Munich, genomics research at UCF, and patient care in a hospital, so I can show students why what they're learning actually matters. I also speak Spanish and German, and I've coached tennis to players from 4 to 75, so I'm used to meeting people where they are. Subjects: algebra through precalculus, biology, chemistry, physics, and test prep.
