The Appell Center is a cultural complex with five buildings, including two historic theaters, the Strand and the Capitol. A non-profit that takes cultural leadership to enrich the community through performing arts and education programs, Appell Center brings the biggest names in entertainment to audiences in York. From symphonies and musicals to rock concerts and stand up comedy, the center offers a wide variety of shows. The two historic theaters, the donors lounge and several other rooms at the center are available on rent for private events.
Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre is a theater company that offers space for business, club and association meetings, seminars, company parties, conferences, fashion shows, product demonstrations, reunions and concerts. It features a Encore room that has a seating capacity of more than 50 guests. The theater offers musical events, such as Cantata for a First Date, A Stud and A Babe, Wedding Vows, On the Highway of Love, Waiting Trio, Tear Jerk and Single Man Drought. Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre organizes video and audio auditions and provides gift certificates in various denominations. Its children show plays include Robin Hood, Stuart Little, The Jungle Book and the Nutcracker. The theater is a part of the Prather Family of Theatres.
