Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County is a nonprofit organization serving low-income individuals and families by offering various programs and services, such s housing, employment, education and emotional health. The Alum Rock Women & Children’s Center supports single women, pregnant women, and women with children. The Alum Rock Center opened its doors in 1971 and has been welcoming women and children in need of recovery since. The Teen Challenge program includes education, mentoring, and guidance. The program offers a holistic approach. Also, to provide an environment of higher success, the length of the program is 12-18 months. Our holistic method along with the length of the program makes Teen Challenge one of the largest and most successful recovery programs of its kind. The Alum Rock Women & Children’s Center has women and their children at its heart. The Teen Challenge Program gives women support, protection, and encouragement. Being in the safe and stable environment of the center, individuals are able to heal and learn without the stressors that prompted addictive lifestyles. The women learn various life skills as well as biblical principles. These lead to spiritual, emotional, mental, social, and economic wholeness.
