Founded in 1942, Saint Matthew's Parish provides spiritual services for up to 900 parishioners at mass. It offers prayer services and conducts classes for the sacrament of marriage. It maintains catechetical, spiritual life, Eucharistic, and parish development and governance ministries. The parish supports a community action program that is sponsored by area churches for underprivileged individuals. Saint Matthew's Parish also administers sports and teenage activities that include soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, and track and field for students through its youth activities council. It also maintains St. Matthew School, which was opened in 1942 and works to assist in the academic, spiritual, social and physical development of children. Saint Francis Xavier School serves students preschool through grade eight and is comprised of more than 30 teachers, specialists, aides and support staff.
Our purpose is to proclaim the gospel as the good news of God's love and invite others to join us. We celebrate God's love for us through worship, demonstrate God's love by caring for, and meeting the needs of people in the name of Jesus. We interact with one another, as family members of the body of Christ and nurture each one as we learn and grow toward maturity in Christ. Come and celebrate God's love with us!
