Boise Public Library

Sitting on Capitol Boulevard, across from Julia Davis Park and next to the The Cabin, this former warehouse has turned itself into a busy urban library that brims with activity. Special events take place in the auditorium, and the children and reference areas are always busy. The library has an excellent local history collection and an extremely helpful staff, always willing to offer advice to visitors. The original Carnegie Boise Library, now housing offices, can be found on the corner of Eighth and Idaho.

Ada Community Library

Ada Community Library, founded in 1989, provides more than 140,000 fiction and nonfiction books, journals, music CDs, DVDs, video games, movies and documentaries. The library is equipped with computers and provides Internet access, computer instruction program, homework help, literacy and language instruction materials, readers advisory services, reference information and personalized assistance using print and online sources. The library offers story hours, art and music programs, after school events, summer reading programs and computer learning games for children. It also organizes special events for the public, such as Shakespeare s plays, monthly Friday night music programs and book discussion groups. Ada Community Library has locations in Boise and Star, Idaho.
