The Peter Kern Library, located inside the Oliver Hotel, is a world-class speakeasy. The bar is located behind the receptionist desk in the hotel lobby. Upon enterting the bar, guests are made to feel like they've stepped back into the 1920s. Under the guise of library, this secretive bar has beautiful touches, like the drink menus being hidden inside old encyclopedias, that make the whole experience seem authentic. The cocktails are excellent and are all named for famous fictional characters. Patrons can sip on these exquisite drinks while sitting under the watchful eyes of Peter Kern himself - his portrait hangs overlooking the bar.
John C. Hodges Library is the central library facility for the University of Tennessee Knoxville campus, housing 2.3 million volumes and includes collections in all subject areas. Research services and collaboration workspaces are provided for all students and faculty of the university.
