First Unitarian Church of Rochester

The First Unitarian Church of Rochester is revered as one of the most beautiful religious structures in the city. The edifice, built in 1969 was designed by Louis Kahn and is well known for it's architectural brilliance. Apart from the day-to-day religious services, the church also holds three special worship services on weekends, along with a 45-minute class for visitors and newcomers post the service. An important ministry of the Church, Cafe Veritas organizes musical concerts and shows that are headlined by popular local and national artists on Saturday evenings, during the month of October through May, in a huge 200-plus seating capacity hall.

Though the Salem United Church of Christ has embraced modern ways of thinking, its still deep-rooted in history. This historic structure dates back to 1873, the architect being Charles Coats. Over the period of time, the building was renovated and renamed several times; however, the overall Romanesque Revival style of designing has been retained. Included in the National Register of Historic Places, it also boasts of a pipe organ that was installed way back in 1923. Today, the church is involved in many activities that benefit the entire community, right from youth programs to special activities for women every base is covered.
