I am a board-certified trauma and acute care surgeon and surgical intensivist. I received a BS in both Biomedical Engineering (in Artificial Organs and Medical Device Design) and Biologic Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009. I attained my medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013 and completed my General Surgery residency training at the UPMC Pinnacle Health in Harrisburg, PA in 2018. I served as chief surgical resident from 2016-2018.Following residency, I under went an additional one-year specialty training fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH before joining the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery division at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. As a trauma and acute care surgeon, I enjoy helping our patients and their families overcome acute illnesses and begin on the road to recovery. I treat every patient as a partner as we work together to get home safely and prevent further trauma. In addition to my clinical duties, I am a resident trainer for general surgery residents from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). I am also the director of trauma and acute care surgery informatics and analytics and an EPIC Physician Builder. My research interests include geriatric and homeless trauma, quality improvement in trauma surgery and sedation/delirium in surgical critical care. I serve on several hospital committees dedicated to patient safety and information technology.

I am lucky to be a part of the Heart and Vascular Institute at Lancaster General Hospital, as well as in direct communication regularly with my vascular surgery colleagues within the University of Pennsylvania health system. We are able to offer world-class treatment within the confines of our beautiful landscape, provided by a team of people dedicated to the overall health of the circulatory system. My practice includes the entire spectrum of surgical management of vascular disorders, with very few exceptions requiring outside consultation. I have special interest in clinical research regarding the transcarotid artery stenting procedure performed with flow reversal (TCAR) and hold multiple positions within our regional vascular societies.
