Meet Dr. Harrison Matthew J. Harrison, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon with practices in Santa Barbara and Solvang, California. His practice focuses on the lower extremity with a special interest in the foot and ankle, and treats a wide range of conditions, from sports injuries and ankle pain, to foot and ankle fractures and Achilles tendon disorders Dr. Harrison earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology. He attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, followed by residency training at the Oregon Health and Science University, where he served as Chief Resident. He gained advanced fellowship education at the Oakland Bone and Joint Specialists in Oakland, California. He trained under Roger Mann MD, a world-renowned foot and ankle surgeon and pioneer. Following this, he completed a second fellowship with Matthew Tomlinson MD in Auckland, New Zealand. Dr. Tomlinson is regarded as New Zealand's top foot and ankle authority. Dr. Harrison is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
