I call myself “the hood doula” because I think many people in the hood feel doulas aren’t for them. It’s not fair, because doulas are for everyone! My life’s purpose is to change that train of thought, and to bridge the gaps/divides between doulas, doctors, midwives, nurses, PAs, lactation consultants, childbirth educators. Birth is a huge spiritual, emotional, physical and mental transition and I want to be there to support those who need it the most.
