The library building was built in 1908 in classic revival style architecture designed by John C Austin who has created several landmark buildings in southern California. It operated as a public library until 1963. Later, the building was used as an administrative office for the city of Anaheim. Since 1979, it has been marked as National Historic Site which is now a part of MUZEO, an interesting museum exhibiting local culture, history and art.
