The ruins of Shasta have been preserved at the Shasta State Historic Park. The state park features original buildings of the once-thriving gold town from the 1800s. Explore the church, the post office, vestiges of one of the first Masonic lodges of the state and other ruins here. Along with a museum displaying regional history, you can also visit the restored courthouse and immerse yourself in California's history.
Named after former Sacramento politician Bernard Redding, the city is a sun-soaked Californian gem. Peaceful in disposition, Redding's proximity to Sacramento River and sprawling green parks attract a lot of outdoor lovers. The Sundial Bridge, Cascade Theater and Dancing Shiva statue are some of the highlights of the city.
