Point Reyes Station

Once home to the Coast Miwok, indigenous people known so as they used to camp solely on coasts and bays, Point Reyes Station is now an unincorporated town with a population of only 350 people. Bordering Tomales Bay, this small town not only offers scenic views of the narrow inlet but it is also the perfect destination to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life. This quiet town is also a home to Tomales Bay ecological reserve.

Heritage Park Village Museum

Heritage Park Village Museum was constructed as a memorial to the American Bicentennial. It was dedicated to the citizens of Oceanside and opened on July 4, 1976. Today, it stands as a lovely, peaceful park with mature shade trees, historic buildings, a picturesque gazebo and the home of the North County Model Railroad Society (ncmrs.org). The museum buildings capture early Oceanside from 1885-1920 and tours are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am - 2pm. They are also available by appointment. Donations are appreciated. Heritage Park Village Museum is open to the public and available for special events.

Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park

Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park is the former abode of legendary actor Leo Carillo, who built this ranch like the old settler ranches. With a beautiful homestead, several outhouse buildings, and massive acreage of land, visitors love to hike, bike, have picnics, and take in all the history. Overall, visiting this historic park is a fun, educational experience.
