The busiest of the streets in Chicago—Wells Street, always has something or the other going on. People flock this place because of its popularity and intersection with many other streets. If you are at this street, you are sure to be occupied every single minute. A city auto corporation has also set up plans to establish a five-story auto facility on this street. The annual Arts Festival and Fair, which has exhibitors and buyers coming from all over the world, also takes place here. A lot of art and crafts displays are held regularly at Wells Street. Be it cultural activities or otherwise, this street has it all.
K.A.M. Isaiah Israel Temple is a Byzantine-inspired building that houses the oldest Jewish congregation in Chicago, one that moved seven times before settling in this Hyde Park neighborhood. The building looks somewhat out of place in Chicago, as many associate Chicago Jews with Russian immigrants and European style churches. This temple reflects the religion's Middle Eastern roots, however. Inside, an impressive 80-foot high dome crowns the auditorium. This structure looks majestically down upon the beautifully crafted Italian ark, which contains the temple's Torah.
