Fairies: are they for real or just a product of one's imagination? The answer is put to rest when you see these tiny yet gorgeous doors that are found all around Downtown Ann Arbor. The first of these doors, was found in Jonathan and Kathleen Wright's home; it appeared near their fireplace. Following which four other doors were found in their house. Sweetwaters Cafe, was the Fairy Doors' first external location. This is believed to be an installation of Jonathan B. Wright. Other Fairy Doors are found in the Michigan Theater, Selo-Shewal Gallery, Found Gallery and many other places. Whether these fairies frequent their homes or not, their doors welcome everyone in their absence. The doors do open but visitors need to be very gentle with them and if you peek inside you can see fairy paraphernalia lying all around their tiny home.
The history of Lurie Tower can be traced to the late 1900s when it was built. This tower is dedicated to the Lurie family for donating USD12 million during its making. It is popular for housing a grand carillon containing 60 bells and has been registered in the National Register Of Historic Places.
