Jefferson Landing State Historic Site, on Jefferson Street, is accredited as a National Historic Site. The place is home to several historic buildings, homes and structures such as Jefferson City Amtrak station, the Jefferson Landing Building and Christopher Maus House, to name a few. All of these contributing buildings are from the late 1800s.

City Hall comprises of finance, fire, human resources, law, police, public works, planning, community development, and parks and recreation departments. The city hall s community development department serves as an agent for the implementation of city council policies. Its planning division provides support services for the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustment. City Hall s public works department administrates the engineering, parking, streets and storm water divisions. Its finance department is responsible for accounts payable, billing, budgeting, business licensing, financial reporting, payroll, purchasing and revenue accounting functions. The city hall is governed by the City of Jefferson in Missouri, which was incorporated in 1836.
