Missouri State Capitol

The imposing Missouri State Capitol is a gorgeous example of Classical Revival architecture in Jefferson City, MO. Its stellar dome, that features Roman Goddess Ceres, towers to approximately 238 feet (73 meters). Built in 1917, almost nine decades ago, Missouri State Capital is still in Federal use.

City Hall comprises of finance, fire, human resources, law, police, public works, planning, community development, and parks and recreation departments. The city hall s community development department serves as an agent for the implementation of city council policies. Its planning division provides support services for the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustment. City Hall s public works department administrates the engineering, parking, streets and storm water divisions. Its finance department is responsible for accounts payable, billing, budgeting, business licensing, financial reporting, payroll, purchasing and revenue accounting functions. The city hall is governed by the City of Jefferson in Missouri, which was incorporated in 1836.
