Also called Fairview, this former residence of politician William Jennings Bryan is located on the campus of Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. Before moving to Lincoln in the late 1880s, Bryan practiced law in Jacksonville, Illinois. He would later run three unsuccessful campaigns for President, before becoming Secretary of State under Woodrow Wilson in 1913. Dedicated to giving back to the community, Bryan donated Fairview and the surrounding land to the Nebraska Conference of the United Methodist Church in 1922 and helped establish the hospital and medical center where his home is preserved today. Fairview was restored to its original condition in 1994, and now houses a museum detailing Bryan's life. The house remains architect Artemus. A. Roberts' proudest achievement.
