Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park

This waterfront museum, located across from First Niagara Center, salutes all branches of the United States Armed Forces, with special emphasis on veterans from Western New York. Visitors can tour a World War II submarine, a destroyer and a guided missile cruiser. There are military artifacts such as tanks, aircraft and memorabilia, including an interesting collection from the Polish Armed Forces.

St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral

Originally constructed in 1849, St Paul's is not only one of Buffalo's most beautiful churches, it's one of the oldest buildings in the whole city. After a fire in 1888, the Cathedral was rebuilt, and is still providing weekly services to its congregation. The peaceful Cathedral Park setting is also a favorite spot for downtown workers seeking a shady spot to eat their lunches.

USS Little Rock (CL-92)

USS Little Rock (CL-92) is a light cruiser ship launched around 1944. The ship was later converted to a guided missile cruiser and was in service for more than 20 years before she was decommissioned . Now it is a museum ship at Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park.

Ellicott Square Building

This French-revival style building, sitting on land once owned by Joseph Ellicott, designer of Buffalo, was the largest office building in the world upon its opening in 1896. Featured is a central atrium with a glass roof, marble stairways, and a beautiful mosaic floor. The elevators on both the Main and Washington Street sides are framed in polished brass. Designed by Charles Atwood of Chicago, the final cost of construction was USD3.5 million. Nearby attractions include Buffalo Place and the Theater District.

The Electric Tower

Located on less than one acre of land, the Electric Tower also famously known as the Iskalo Electric Tower is a historic office structure which is a sky scraper. Featuring a 13 story building, that is 249 feet tall, this structure is the seventh tallest in Buffalo. With elements of Classical Revival style, the structure is octagonal in shape and the spire of the tower is decorated with different colors all year round at nights. This building is a delight to watch and is a must visit place whenever here.

Niagara Square

A public square that forms itself at the confluence of Delaware Avenue , Niagara, Genesee and Court streets, this spot could be considered by many where the rest of city springs forth. The highlight is a commemorative memorial in the middle of the square dedicated to American President William McKinley, who was assassinated in 1901. Several government and private offices are also located around this square and it serves as a good place to start exploring the city.
