Clark Park
Clark Park is a community park in Detroit offering a wide range of high-end recreational, educational and social programs for families promoting skills development, transforming the youth into responsible and independent adults. The park operates in collaboration with the Detroit Recreational Department and regularly hosts concerts, festivals and other special events, serving as a popular meeting point for family gatherings and picnics.
Inside the historic district of the same name, Grand Circus Park is a downtown greenbelt that attaches the theater and financial districts. In earlier times, the park was larger, but city encroachment and development ate away at its borders. Nonetheless, it's still a large strip of preserved greenery that contains features like the Thomas Edison Memorial Fountain, a couple of statues that pay homage to Detroit benefactors and some architectural highlights along the way. For locals who work in the area, it's simply a nice spot to have lunch.
