Madrona Park is a scenic landscape spread across a large area close to a scenic river in the city. Established in the year 1921, it is named after a time-honored tree called Heritage Tree. A well-designed play area, designated pathways, basketball court and a playground are some of its other amenities locals and tourists enjoy while in this part of Portland.

East Delta Park

Visitors can enjoy a picnic and the great outdoors at this magnificent Portland park. This 86-acre (35 hectares) park hosts a number of outdoor events, including trade shows, arts and crafts fairs and annual events. Built on the grave of Vanport, a city destroyed by a 1948 flood, the park also offers the usual amenities: lighted softball fields, soccer and football fields, nature trails and a playground. You will enjoy beautiful views of the Columbia and Willamette rivers and their banks in East Delta Park.

Irving Park

If you're walking through historic Irvington, looking at the magnificent old homes, you might easily stumble onto this park. Tucked back along an old hedge and sidewalk off Northeast Eighth Avenue, the park is a giant, open space with rolling, grassy hills. In the middle of a nostalgic part of town, the park is perfect for pitching a blanket or watching a ballgame. It has fields, basketball and tennis courts, and winding paths throughout. It's usually a very peaceful place.
