Bear Creek is one of the oldest African American neighborhoods in all of Dallas County dating back to the 1850s. The Jackie Townsell Bear Creek Heritage Museum tells the story of the settlement from the time of emancipation after the Civil War through a number of interesting exhibits.

Deep Ellum

Travel three blocks east of Downtown Dallas and you will find Deep Ellum. It is a conglomerate of unique shops, eclectic restaurants and residential lofts. Previously deserted historic buildings and warehouses are now alive with people eating, working, living and playing. Deep Ellum is home to numerous clubs, featuring an array of musical genres, from blues and jazz to reggae and alternative rock. It is also home to various theatrical and artistic venues.

Bank of America Plaza

Dominating the city skyline for over three decades, Bank of America Plaza was and is Dallas' tallest building. Towering at 921 feet (280.7 meters) with 72 floors for commercial usage, this prestigious building is among the finest corporate addresses in the Central Business District (CBD). Completed in 1985, this iconic skyscraper has undergone several name changes in its existence. Its glistening modernist glass and steel facade is not only a landmark during the day but also during the night when it is luminous with colorful LED lights.
