Thanks-Giving Square

This spiral-shaped chapel was designed by Philip Johnson, the noted American architect, and features stained glass by Gabriel Loire. It honors the spirit of gratitude as it is represented in world religions. The chapel comprises just part of this lovely downtown oasis, which includes the Bell Tower, a garden, walkways with reflecting pools and waterfalls.

Dallas Firefighters Museum

The Dallas Firefighters Museum is a historical landmark in the city. Built in 1907, this building was a functioning fire station for more than 60 years. The museum has over 2000 items on exhibit, including photographs and trucks. The most famous item here is a steam pumper from the 19th century which was pulled by horses. The visitors here are mostly kids in school groups.

Hall of State

The Hall of State is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the state of Texas. It was built in the year 1936 in the Beaux Arts style of architecture by the architect Donal Barthelme. Known to be one of Texa's most expensive constructed structure at a price of 1.2 million dollars, it has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places as well as the Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. The building is under the ownership of the Dallas Historical Society.
