Top Naples movers

The best moving company in Naples for YOU

Moving companies vary greatly in services offered, price, reliability, availability and reputation, but our in-depth rating system — combined with our independent research and reporting — will help you find exactly what you need, guaranteed. Picking the right company isn't always easy, and consumers' priorities can vary widely, but basic guidelines exist to help make the right decision.

You usually want to find a moving company that's been in business for at least several years. Moving isn't easy, and the companies that aren't fully committed to the cause usually don't stick around long. You also want to look for a moving company with a strong reputation, dependable reliability, and favorable customer reviews.

Your needs will differ regarding availability and services, which is why we included so many moving companies. Even if our top pick doesn't have a schedule that aligns with your move, you should be able to find a company that does.

With all that in mind, our top pick for Naples moving companies is Helping Hand Movers . It started out very small in 2013, with four employees loading and unloading rental trucks and containers, and it has grown to include three 26-foot moving trucks and a moving van. The company has strong employee retention, so you won't get a team of greenhorns handling your move.

Helping Hand Movers is the most highly rated moving company in Naples, according to our scoring system. With hundreds of stellar reviews across Google, Yelp and Angi, as well as friendly customer service and strong employee retention, Helping Hand Movers is worth consideration if you're moving in Florida.

Helping Hand Movers was started in 2013 by Diana and her husband, Patrick O'Halloran. They started as a four-person team, loading and unloading rental trucks and containers. "Very basic stuff," according to Diana O'Halloran. The company grew organically, with the team learning the business "from the ground up." Helping Hand continues to operate out of Naples, and it's now grown to include three 26-foot moving trucks and a moving van.

According to O'Halloran, more than 70% of the moving crew have been with the company for six or seven years, and others for 10 years or more. It's a "steady crew" that sticks around thanks to a "small family atmosphere," O'Halloran said. Helping Hand runs background checks on all potential hires.

The company requests a deposit based on the job size before it begins work.

Although it does not offer long-distance moves, O'Halloran have the company hopes to resume out-of-state service in the next six months. It has 4.9 stars on Google (744 reviews) and 4.3 stars on Yelp (30 reviews). While it is not BBB-accredited , it does have an A+ rating with no complaints.

The business is open 24 hours, seven days a week. Based on our experience, you can expect a prompt callback if your call isn't answered immediately.

Great movers. Owner gave me a bid price he honored. Visited our home pre-move and gave us helpful suggestions. Moving crew was courteous and professional. They worked efficiently as a team and were respectful to each other and us. Excellent drop off and placed furniture exactly where we requested. Great value all around. Thank you.

Cleveland Bass Storage & Movers handles residential services and commercial moves. We spoke with Cassandra Stready, operations manager and granddaughter of the company's founder, about the history behind this long-lasting moving company. Stready said Cleveland Bass was the first moving company in Naples, Fla., when Mr. Cleveland Bass first started it in 1969.

It's still owned and operated by Bass's son and extended family and provides reliable moving services 55 years later. The company has many corporate customers, making it an experienced option for commercial moves, according to Stready.

The company charges by the hour for local moves, as is standard. Our quote was $275 per hour for three movers and a truck, which should be enough for the average two- or three-bedroom home. Cleveland Bass also charges an extra $275 for travel fees to and from the site, but if you're close to its headquarters at 2362 Linwood Way in Naples, you might see a half-hour charge for travel. A deposit is required for 20% of the job estimate.

Cleveland Bass prefers at least five days' notice for local moves. Estimates for long-distance moves out of Naples are provided on a case-by-case basis. Cleveland Bass prefers one to two weeks of notice for long-distance moves.

Services offered

  • Residential moving

  • Corporate moving

  • Shipping and delivery

  • Moving supplies

  • Local and long-distance moves

The company has 12 trucks and employs 10 to 15 movers "on a busy day," Stready said. All full-time employees receive background checks, though most movers work by contract.

The company is not BBB-accredited but has an A+ rating with one complaint filed in the last three years. It has a 4.9-star Google rating (231 reviews) and a 4.5-star Yelp rating (10 reviews). From the moment of the first meeting with owner, Tim, I was made to feel confident as, let’s face it, moving to a different state can be daunting. But Cassandra the Office Mgr, was always there for me with her friendly, understanding and competent handling of the different issues that arose. From the packers & the wrapping staff, loaders who worked tirelessly & cheerfully, to ultimately the awesome delivery staff. I could not have been better taken care of, and I would urge anyone, who’s thinking about moving to call Cleveland Bass Movers.

Cleveland Bass Movers & Storage has been in business since 1969 and remains family-owned and operated. Its services include local and long-distance moving for residential and commercial clients, local delivery and international shipping and packing supply sales. Pros

  • Storied history as the first moving company in Naples
  • Family-owned and operated since 1969
  • Local and long-distance moves for residential and commercial clients

BLVD Moving is the best national moving company

The BLVD Moving crew poses for a group photo
The BLVD Moving crew poses for a group photo (BLVD Moving)

At Yahoo Local, our mission is to help you make informed, confident decisions. We love featuring local businesses, but in some cases, a national moving company might be the better fit, depending on what your particular move requires. If you’re deciding between the two, take a look at our local vs. national movers guide . For those who prefer a national provider, BLVD Moving is our top choice .

BLVD Moving is operated by professionals with many years of moving expertise. Although the company maintains just four offices in California, it handles both local and cross-country relocations throughout the United States. It remains a family-run, independent business with its own trucks and moving staff, though the terms and conditions mention that subcontractors or agents may sometimes be used. This practice is fairly standard in the industry to handle spikes in demand, but it’s something to be aware of.

We reached out to BLVD Moving for pricing on a 500-mile relocation involving approximately 1,340 cubic feet of household items — about the size of a typical three-bedroom move without oversized appliances. The quoted cost was close to $6,700, which is in line with many other long-distance providers. Customers must pay a 33% deposit at the time of booking, with half of the remaining balance due when belongings are picked up. The final portion is collected once delivery is complete.

Services offered

  • Local and long-distance moves

  • Residential, office and commercial moves

  • Packing services

  • Storage

  • Financing

If you need to cancel, BLVD Moving issues a deposit refund if cancellation occurs at least two business days before pickup. For deliveries, the company provides a timeframe of two to 21 business days, depending on distance. The delivery clock begins from your chosen preferred date, which means shipments could take just over a month to arrive if scheduled at the far end of the window.

It’s suggested that moves be reserved at least four weeks ahead of time, and even earlier during peak periods such as summer and month-end transitions. (See our comprehensive guide on the best and worst moving dates for more insight.) The quoting process is straightforward, offering both virtual surveys and an online inventory form for quicker results. Financing options are available, with qualifying customers able to secure rates as low as 0%.

BLVD Moving is BBB-accredited with a B rating and 95 filed complaints. While that figure may seem high, it’s typical for movers operating nationally. On review platforms, the company holds a 4.3-star rating on Google (1,635 reviews) and 2.4 stars on Yelp (393 reviews). All moving staff are direct employees who have undergone background checks. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Kevin and his team were absolutely amazing! From start to finish, they were professional, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was handled smoothly and exceeded my expectations in every way. I couldn’t be happier with the results and would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for quality and reliability.

Why they stand out

BLVD Moving is our top pick for a national mover due to its combination of experience, flexibility and relatively strong Google reviews. It has background-checked crews, but it also reserves the right in its terms and conditions to subcontract your move or assign it to agents. The quote process is smooth, in our experience, requiring a simple online inventory, and BLVD's cancellation policy is relatively good.

Pros

  • Has its own movers and fleet
  • Background-checked crews
  • Local and long-distance moves
  • Offers virtual estimates

Cons

  • Can subcontract jobs to other movers
  • Relatively high deposit
  • No GPS tracking
  • Mixed Yelp ratings

Eagle Eye Movers is the best locally-owned Naples moving company

Two employees of Eagle Eye Movers carry a piece of furniture onto a moving truck during a residential move
Two employees of Eagle Eye Movers carry a piece of furniture onto a moving truck during a residential move (Eagle Eye Movers)

Since 2017, Eagle Eye Movers has been serving Southwest Florida as a locally-owned moving company focused on careful planning and hands-on service. The company is led by managing partners Pablo Bailey and Leonardo Mouthon, who built Eagle Eye Movers around a commitment to properly packing, protecting and packing belongings for customers. It is open 24 hours a day and provides both residential and commercial moving services in Naples. When we called, Bailey picked up the phone and answered all of our questions.

He quoted us an hourly rate of $195 for a local move using three movers, with a one-hour minimum. There is also a charge for an hour of time at the same rate to cover travel to and from the move (including fuel surcharges), so the least you’ll pay with this mover is $390. Bailey said the clock starts when the crew arrives and ends when the job is complete.

A $100 deposit is required to book a move with Eagle Eye Movers and is deducted from the total cost of your move. The deposit is transferable if your plans change. Bailey said he works with customers on scheduling and is flexible with deposit refunds depending on the circumstances.

The company offers free estimates, with Bailey telling us that “90% of customers” schedule an on-site estimate. He explained that this helps him ensure that he isn’t “missing any details” and can “make sure the move is executed perfectly.” He also likes for customers to “meet who you are doing business with and who you can trust — and vice versa.” All movers undergo background checks and have personally handled moves for Bailey’s own family.

Services offered

  • Residential moving

  • Commercial moving

  • Long Distance moving

  • Storage solutions

  • Junk removal

  • Packing

The final amount is due at the end of the move. You can pay by cash, Zelle, Venmo and Cash App. Credit card payments are also accepted but come with a 5% processing fee. On its website, Eagle Eye Movers states that if any furniture is damaged in the move, customers are covered by the standard valuation protection of $0.60 per pound, per item. It also accepts third-party insurance if you want additional protection.

The company is a member of the National Association of Senior and Special Move Managers and the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce.

It has a 3.3-star rating on Yelp but fares better on Google with a 4.9-star rating from 545 reviews. This Naples mover is not accredited by the BBB . It has four customer complaints on file in the last three years with the organization but maintains an A+ rating. In addition to Naples, it also serves Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Miami, Park Shore, Gulf Shore Blvd. and other Southwest Florida communities. It lists its availability as open 24 hours, so you can reach out any time.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Eagle Eye Movers for your next move. I moved from Naples to Sarasota. Kris, Oscar and Alain were Amazing!! I have moved 8 times in 12 years, and they, by far, have been the best moving company I have ever used! From start to finish, they made it completely stress-free for me. Putting everything where I needed it, including upstairs. I have a bad back, and they didn't hesitate to help me place everything exactly where it needed to be. Their prices were very fair compared to others as well. Five stars!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Thanks so much guys!!!

Reed's Moving & Storage is the best price-transparent moving company

A company shot of Reed's Moving & Storage employees standing in front of a moving truck.
A company shot of Reed's Moving & Storage employees standing in front of a moving truck. (Reed's Moving & Storage)

Naples natives Shannon and Issac Reed started Reed's Moving & Storage in 2014. Shannon Reed said they "started with $75 and a dream" 10 years ago, renting a truck for the first year and a half and relying on their two sons to help with the business. The company built a fleet of 11 trucks and 20 movers, but in September of 2022, Hurricane Ian "took all 11 trucks" and forced some employees to seek new opportunities elsewhere, Reed said. Reed's Moving & Storage has since recovered, climbing back to seven trucks and 15 qualified movers today.

When asked if employees receive background checks, Reed said she's personally known her movers or their families for most of their lives. That's the benefit of being in Naples for six generations on Shannon's side and four generations on Issac's side, according to Reed.

Whereas most moving companies tack on travel fees, Reed's Moving & Storage forgoes the charge and offers an hourly rate for local services. Our quote was $175 per hour for three movers and a truck, enough to handle two- or three-bedroom moves. A deposit equal to the cost of one hour of work is required for local moves. The company is available seven days a week, and Reed said next-day local service is often available. Reed's Moving requests at least two weeks' notice for long-distance moves.

Services offered

  • Senior moving and relocation

  • Household and commercial moving services

  • Same-day delivery

  • Custom crating

  • Loading and unloading

  • Packing

The company also has a new 11,000-square-foot vault storage facility with climate control and secure outdoor RV and vehicle storage. For long-distance moves outside of Naples, expect to be charged by volume, distance and the time it takes to complete the job.

Reed Moving & Storage is not BBB-accredited , but it does have an A+ rating and one filed complaint in the last three years. On Google, the business has a 4.8-star rating (478 reviews) and a 4.2-star rating on Yelp (59 reviews).

Based on our experience, expect a quick call back if your call isn't picked up immediately. The business is open 24/7.

Naples moving FAQs

What info should you have ready when requesting a moving estimate?

The Naples moving companies we spoke with about pricing were friendly and accommodating, but knowing a few key moving ingredients can expedite the process.

You should have ready the current address and the destination address (or a rough idea of the distance between locations), the types of residences or commercial buildings on both ends of the move (be sure to specify whether it's a home, apartment, or condo), the square footage and whether there are stairs or elevators involved in the move.

You should also prepare to detail any extra services that may be required, such as packing or unpacking, or purchasing supplies for the move.

What's different about condo and apartment moving?

Aside from the extra time it takes to navigate stairs or elevators — you should always mention this to the movers before a job so they can factor it into your estimate — you might need to schedule an elevator reservation with the condo board or apartment management company. Be upfront with whoever manages the property to ensure you don't run into scheduling snags.

What should you know about packing and storage in Naples?

Any resident of Naples knows how hot and humid the climate gets, and you want to be sure not to pack goods and leave them for too long without temperature- or climate-controlled storage . Humidity can cause mold to form quicker than you imagine — even during short-term storage — so be sure to find a storage unit with proper systems to control heat and moisture. Many items require climate-controlled storage , like electronics, furniture and artwork.

Do you need permits or licenses to move in Naples?

No, you need not apply for a special permit or license to move to Naples. Individual companies, however, must be licensed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to conduct business. For more details, read our guide to moving company licensing and regulations in Florida .

How much should you tip movers?

Moving isn't easy, especially in a hot and humid climate, and we recommend extra gratitude for a job well done. While it's ultimately up to you whether or not you want to tip, you should generally consider about 10% to 20% of the total moving cost. You can tip the movers individually or let the team sort it out as they see fit. You might consider more if the movers carefully handle delicate or sensitive items or tackle a huge job. The same goes for long-distance moves. Check out our guide to tipping movers for more details.
