Customer testimonial
I had such a great experience with Our Family Moving! The crew—Lion, Zeke, and JC—were fantastic. They communicated clearly the whole time, worked efficiently, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was handled with care. The office team—Jon, Joey, and Frank—were also excellent. Their communication about scheduling, storage, and updates was absolutely exceptional, which gave me so much peace of mind throughout the process. Between the hardworking movers and the attentive office staff, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and would happily do business with them again! - Jennifer W., Google reviews (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

Our local movers vs. national moving companies guide breaks down the key differences to help you decide. During our analysis of the best national moving companies , BLVD Moving earned one of the strongest overall scores.
BLVD Moving is managed by relocation specialists with extensive industry experience. The company operates four physical offices within California but delivers local and long-distance moving services nationwide. It is a family-owned, independently operated business that uses its own vehicles and employs its own moving staff. According to company policies , subcontractors or third-party agents may be assigned to some moves. This is a standard practice across the moving industry during periods of increased demand, though customers seeking company crews for every stage should keep this in mind.
To assess pricing, we requested a BLVD Moving estimate for a move spanning 500 miles and involving approximately 1,340 cubic feet of household items, comparable to the contents of a typical three-bedroom home without major appliances. The quoted cost was about $6,700, placing it in line with pricing from other long-distance moving providers. A 33% deposit is required to secure a booking. Fifty percent of the remaining balance is due at pickup, with the final payment collected at delivery.

Florida moving FAQs
What info should you have when requesting an estimate?
Knowing your location, your destination, the square footage of your space, and when you’re hoping to move are often enough to get started. It’s also helpful to know if you’ll need storage, if you have any items needing special handling (pianos, gun safes, or hot tubs all fall into this category), and whether you’ll be packing yourself or needing help. (See our guide to getting an accurate moving estimate for more things to consider.)
What should you know about packing and storage in Florida?
The legendarily hot and humid climate of the Sunshine State means that you need to take special care to protect fragile items when you’re storing your belongings. If you’ll be storing items for a short period, then securely packing and protecting your goods from damp or wet is the main concern. If your plans involve a longer stay in storage or if you’ll be storing wooden furniture, antiques and artwork, electronics, or other items that are sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity ( check out our full list of items that need climate-controlled storage here ), we recommend you seek out climate-controlled or temperature-controlled storage units .
What's different about condo and apartment moving in Florida?
For a smooth move into or out of a condo or apartment, make a plan ahead for stairs — some companies will charge extra for stairs, and all of them will need to take the number of stairs into account when they staff your move. If your building has an elevator, reach out to the super or management company well in advance to find out if you need to reserve the elevator or if you’ll be restricted in the times you can use it. Many buildings will also require a notice period so they can prepare the elevator for your use with pads and protection. Your building can also let you know if there will be any restrictions or issues with parking the truck in front of or adjacent to the building.
Some buildings require that moving companies provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) that attests to their insurance coverage in case of damage to the building. If yours does, let your movers know in advance: Many firms can provide a COI when requested, although some charge a fee for the service.
Do you need moving permits or licenses to move in Florida?
There’s no requirement to get a permit for a household move in Florida, although all professional moving companies that operate in the state are required to be licensed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. (For more on Florida moving company licensing requirements, see our guide .)
That being said, many bigger cities will require that you or your moving company obtain a parking permit for the truck, especially if it’ll block traffic or public parking. To find out more about whether your city requires this, check with the Department of Motor Vehicles or City Hall.
How much should you tip movers in Florida?
There’s no set amount you need to tip movers — in fact, tipping is always at your discretion, and there’s no obligation. But if you’re looking to reward your crew for a job well done, then tipping either a percentage (often 10 to 20% of the total bill, divided among the movers) or a flat rate ($5 to $10 an hour per mover) is a common formula. For more, check out our guide to tipping movers .
