Books Inc

This neighborhood bookstore keeps locals well-read and warm on chilly San Francisco days. Books Inc., a Marina District favorite, features all you can expect from a general bookstore—bestsellers, the classics, paperbacks and magazines, plus something extra for the kids. The children's book department is quite spectacular, featuring a magical mural, a wide selection of titles and a weekly Sunday reading hour. Sit outside on the charming storefront bench and browse the sale books or relax and people watch. Check website for details.

Book Passage

Book Passage has served the Bay Area for more than 30 years, providing the community with an array of author events, writing and language classes, and highly-respected, annual conferences. A New York Times-reporting bookstore, we offer a wide variety of books ranging from children's literature to travel guides, from top-selling fiction to mystery novels, and we continue to work diligently with community and nonprofit organizations. Book Passage has two stores, one in Corte Madera and a second in the San Francisco Ferry Building.

Books Inc

Books Inc. Opera Plaza is an independent book store and a haven for book lovers. In this time of cyber world, it is indeed a nice spot to get familiar with bound pages and acquire a fondness for reading. It is a few minutes away from the San Francisco City Hall and War Memorial Opera House.

Fabulosa Books

Fabulosa has seven giant cases of LGBTQ+ titles right up front (not one tiny shelf in back like most bookstores). We're also well stocked with books about San Francisco, history, witchcraft, cooking, sci-fi, essays, mushrooms, memoirs, and of course literary fiction.

Kayo Books

Kayo Books is a retail bookstore in San Francisco which specializes in vintage paperback books, magazines, illustration artwork, comics and comix, and interesting books of all persuasions. We are open by appointment or happenstance, feel free to call or email for an appointment or knock on the door if the lights are on.

Bound Together Books

Leave your pre-conceived notions at the door of this collectively run, non-profit, anarchist bookstore. There are no frothing-at-the-mouth revolutionaries to be found here, though there are no doubt, a few revolutionary spirits existing. On the shelves, find a surprising selection of titles, all left-leaning, all designed to question the status quo, to provoke thought and maybe action. For further details, check the website.
