An independent Chinese Bookstore
A cozy neighborhood bookstore whose carefully chosen titles focus on thoughtful literature and challenging non-fiction. You will find more Barbara Pym than Danielle Steele here. There is a good selection of books on religion and philosophy, and the children's section is a winner. Seating at tables and in armchairs encourages shoppers to peruse the stock before buying. The knowledgeable staff can order an item not in stock, or help you discover a new author. There is a great selection of discounted hardbacks, too.

Adobe Book Shop offers an extensive collection of antique and rare books at discount prices. The quality is first-rate. Especially notable is the large collection of art and modern philosophy books. The casual atmosphere lends itself to those who are interested in browsing, but not necessarily buying. The staff is both affable and knowledgeable. They can offer advice on what to buy and, even more helpfully, preserving your antique purchases.
