The Little Bookshop

Indie bookstore, cafe, bar and community hub in East Williamsburg. Black-owned, woman-owned, Latinx-owned, family-owned. Come grab a book and bev!

Three Lives & Company

Though this is indeed a general neighborhood bookstore with a broad selection chosen from among many categories, it is not of the modern "superstore" variety. A friendly and helpful staff will assist the customer in finding what he or she needs. Browsing is encouraged and many interesting older works of fiction, reprints and cookbooks are available.

WORD

New books, great stationery, a knowledgeable and energetic staff, Stumptown coffee and cafe, and an awesome event schedule.

East Village Books

Founded by a vendor who was tired of selling his wares on the gritty New York streets, this edgy St. Mark's shop fits right into the neighborhood. It carries an eclectic mix of authors, from Bukowski and Hemingway to Proust and Zola. Do not bother searching for such lightweight authors as Danielle Steele or Sydney Sheldon. However, you may find Abbie Hoffman's Steal This Book or The Diary of Vaslav Nijinsky instead. There is also a small selection of compact discs and other assorted memorabilia for sale.
