Southtown Shopping Center has been a favorite shopping, dining and entertainment destination among locals since 1960. It is home to myriad fashion brands and national restaurant chains such as Dress Barn, Christopher & Banks, Claire's Boutique, AMF Southtown Lanes, Applebee's and McDonald's.
Not considered as an architectural masterpiece, City Center opened to mixed reviews in the early 1980s and has gone through a number of face lifts over the years. It was under renovation till fall 2005. Comprised of an office, hotel and shopping complex, City Center was the first enclosed, suburban-style shopping mall downtown.
