Since 2000 Move! has offered weekly capoeira classes, including all the martial arts, music, dance, acrobatics, and more that is involved in this traditional African-Brazilian art. Move! also features Cardio-dance Zumba, boot camp, African dance, modern dance, kinder-gym, birthday parties, personal training, social dances, and special events. Our unique 3300 sq/ft facility includes a wood dance floor, gymnastics equipment, free weights, mirrors, over 50 brazilian percussion instruments, PA system, and international art. At the Sacramento Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy, you will receive attentive instruction in every single training session in which you participate. All classes are taught personally by Terry Maxwell and his son Davin Maxwell. Both Terry and Davin are well versed in the devastating art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Terry has been practicing Jiu-Jitsu since 1995 and is a Cassio Werneck black belt. Terry also spent five years training under Carlson Gracie black belt, Rodrigo Medeiros in San Diego, CA. At that time he won the Pan American Jiu-Jitsu championships. Davin is currently a purple belt and competes at the highest level in his class. Feel free to drop in anytime to check us out.
We give individual attention to our students. We do forms, sparring, falling, joint lock techniques, and weapons. As students rise in ranks, they are given more responsibility and are welcome to attend our advanced Saturday class. We are flexible and comfortable incorporating other arts into our teachings, such as Judo, Escrima, Japanese sword, Akido, and Hapkido. Krav Maga is israeli hand to hand combat, made for everyday practiclal situations. Giving the average person with no physical background a strong strategic advantage over an attacker(s). Krav Maga is not a martial art or sport, it is not made for rings, or competitions with rules and referees. Krav teaches you to deal with multiple attackers, because "no one" fights fair nowadays.
