A U Basketball Skills A U Basketball Skills, the brainchild of Gillette Dickens (Coach G), a dedicated educator with over 25 years of coaching experience, initially focused on honing the fundamental skills of young basketball players. Coach G, a caring and knowledgeable mentor, instilled not just athletic prowess, but also discipline, teamwork, and a love for the game. However, a profound shift occurred during these early clinics. Coach G observed families arriving, entrusting their children to his guidance while they remained on the sidelines. The sight of curious toddlers venturing onto the court, eager to join the action, sparked a powerful realization: "The true potential of these events lay not just in developing athleticism, but in fostering a sense of community and shared experiences". This pivotal insight led to the birth of Generations in Motion, a program transcending traditional sports instruction's boundaries and creating a truly inclusive, adaptive, family environment for all. Recognizing the inherent desire for connection and engagement within families, Generations in Motion now embraces a holistic approach, encouraging active participation from all community members. Generations in Motion fosters a deeper sense of belonging and cultivates lasting extending far beyond the basketball court by creating an inclusive environment where parents, siblings, and even grandparents can actively participate alongside the young athletes.
