- 2 Missouri football O-linemen named to AP All-SEC team; star WR noticeably absent
Two of Mizzou's big men up front have earned postseason honors from the AP. A star MU wide receiver and likely NFL first-round draft pick, however, did not.
Two Missouri football offensive linemen received a nod to the Associated Press' All-SEC teams, with right tackle Armand Membou and right guard Cam'Ron Johnson both being named to the second-team. No Mizzou players were named first-team All-SEC players by the AP voters.
There is a noticeable difference from the All-SEC coaches awards, where wide receiver Luther Burden III was a first-team selection and defensive end Johnny Walker Jr. got a second-team nod alongside Membou. Neither Burden nor Walker were named to the AP's All-SEC teams.
Membou, who recently declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, emerged as one of the nation's top offensive tackles, starting every game for the Tigers at right tackle this season. The Lee's Summit North High grad, which is near Kansas City, graded out as PFF College's 10th-best tackle in the country.
The analytics service attributed Membou with allowing just seven pressures on the quarterback and zero sacks in 2024. He played 827 snaps this season, which ranked second among all MU players.
Johnson, who was not on the coaches' All-SEC team, was PFF's 12th-best graded offensive guard in 2024. The analytics service attributed 11 pressures on the quarterback and two sacks to Johnson over 11 appearances. He was flagged for six penalties, the most among all Mizzou players.
Five wide receivers were named ahead of Burden for first- and second-team honors: Arkansas ' Adam Armstrong and Ole Miss ' Tre Harris were the first-team nominees. Alabama freshman Ryan Williams, LSU 's Kyren Lacy and Auburn's KeAndre Lambert-Smith were second-team selections.
Burden, who currently has first-round NFL Draft projections, caught 61 passes for 676 receiving yards and six touchdowns. The East St. Louis High product also rushed for 115 yards and two more scores.
