- Alabama football adds commitment from 2025 junior college DE Kevonte Henry. What to know
Alabama football has added a junior college transfer to its 2025 recruiting class.
Cerritos College defensive lineman Kevonte Henry flipped his commitment from Mississippi State to Alabama , per a report from On3.
Henry initially committed to Mississippi State June 17.
Per 247Sports' composite junior college rankings, Henry, who comes out of Lawndale, California, is the No. 2 player in the 2025 class and the No. 2 defensive lineman in the country.
Henry originally signed with Oklahoma in the 2022 recruiting class before he entered the transfer portal after his freshman season.
Henry was a Michigan commit, but flipped to the Sooners , who he did not play for in 2022.
Alabama continues to reload at defensive end.
With an older group at the defensive end positions with players such as Jah-Marien Latham, LT Overton and Que Robinson leading the way, Henry gives the Crimson Tide some flexibility, especially at the Bandit position, with players such as Jordan Renaud and Keon Keeley looking to make an impact.
Henry, who went to Leuzinger High School in Los Angeles, had 65 tackles, 26 tackles-for-loss and 12.5 sacks his senior season in 2021.
Expect for Henry to compete for the two-deep at defensive end for the Crimson Tide immediately upon arrival.
