The 2025 NFL Draft is right around the corner, and we've got you covered with in-depth scouting reports on all of the top prospects at every position in this year's class.
Here's everything you need to know about East Carolina cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. heading into the 2025 draft:
Vitals
Height:6-2
Weight:202
Age:24
Strengths
Corners with Revel's combination of size and length immediately move the needle. His frame and wingspan allow Revel to play with a ton of physicality, both at the line of scrimmage and at the catch point. He knows how to extend at the snap to disrupt releases and redirect routes to his preferred leverage point, and Revel has enough long speed to hang with receivers step-for-step down the field, staying within striking distance to ensure every possible catch is contested.
He plays the game with an aggressive mindset and the confidence-bordering-on-arrogance that all great corners have to have, believing he's entitled to pick off or break up every pass that comes his way. He's more fluid and concise with his footwork and transitions than most bigger corners, too.
Weaknesses
The biggest question mark for Revel will be medical, as he's coming off a knee injury that cost him the majority of the 2024 season. His medical checks throughout the predraft process will be key to determining his draft stock, and how soon he'll be ready to make an impact at the next level.
It's also not a sure thing that he'll be the same player he was before the injury, so NFL teams will have to take that into account. On film, his tendency to play extremely physical through the rep and at the catch point might lead to more penalties in the NFL than he drew in college.

Final Analysis
When healthy, Revel was in the conversation to be a potential top-15 pick, despite not hailing from a powerhouse program. A recruiting afterthought who came from the junior college ranks, Revel has turned himself into a potential NFL star with his combination of physical tools and confident, competitive, big-play mentality. If he's at full strength and able to stay healthy, he's got all the traits of a shutdown corner and future Pro Bowler.
