Bill Belichick, Jordon Hudson Make Headlines During UNC's Bye Week
The start of Bill Belichick 's UNC tenure appears to have made the six-time Super Bowl champ nostalgic for his autumns up north.
After opening up the season 2-2 with wins over Charlotte and Richmond, and ugly loses to TCU and UCF, the Tar Heels head coach and his former pageant queen girlfriend found another way to stay in the headlines during the program's bye week.
Much was made of the way the 73-year-old HC interacted with his better half Jordon Hudson on the sideline before North Carolina's game vs. the Knights last Saturday — with many calling it " inappropriate ."
And following the 34-9 defeat at the hands of Scott Frost and "Central," Belichick admitted that there's a lot his team still needs to work on.
Belichick: 'Too many problems' in UCF loss
"First of all, he did a great job with UCF today," Belichick said of Frost during his postgame media availability. "Their team played well, certainly better than we did. There were too many problems out there to be consistent."
"There are a lot of things that we need to do a better job of, and they were just better than us today," the UNC coach added.
Last weekend marked another tough performance by South Alabama transfer quarterback Gio Lopez, who completed 11 of his 14 pass attempts but only for 87 yards with a couple of interceptions before he was forced to exit with a right leg injury.
Feeling the stress of the loss, Bill and Jordon reportedly took some time to get away during the Heels' bye week.
Bill-Jordon take trip to Nantucket
According to TMZ Sports , Belichick and Hudson were spotted in Massachusetts Friday grabbing dinner and taking in the northeastern fall.
It was only a day trip the Hollywood outlet reports, as he and Jordon jetted back to Chapel Hill after less than 24 hours.
The getaway might've done the couple some good given how the first month of Belichick's UNC era started — and with all of the attention being paid to their relationship.
Former teammates comment on Hudson's character in US Weekly
In a recent cover story published by US Weekly, a pair of Hudson's former cheerleading teammates described the "real" her.
“She’s focused and pretty headstrong," one source told the entertainment magazine. "She exerts this kind of energy that if she wants to get something done, she’s really going to put her best foot [forward] in that.”
With another adding, “I don’t get the vibe that she really cares what people think of her because she doesn’t seem shy about being out and being recognized. She has a small group of friends she does things with, like going shopping, having lunches and dinners. She has her own life; it’s not like she just hangs on Bill all day long.”
It's clear that Hudson has aspirations of her own but what exactly they are remain a bit of a mystery right now. One thing's for sure though, all eyes will be on her throughout Bill's time on Franklin St.
