Broncos make IR decision on J.K. Dobbins

The  Denver Broncos  have placed running back J.K. Dobbins ( foot ) on injured reserve, ruling him out for at least the regular season.

Players who land on IR are required to sit out at least four games, but Dobbins suffered a serious Lisfranc injury and has already undergone surgery. That surgery will rule him out for months, and the running back would likely only be able to return if the Broncos reach the Super Bowl this season.

Before suffering a foot injury against the Las Vegas Raiders last week, Dobbins rushed 153 times for 772 yards and four touchdowns through ten games. His 772 rushing yards rank fifth in the NFL.

The Broncos are now poised to start second-round draft pick RJ Harvey with Jaleel McLaughlin and Tyler Badie rotating in behind him. Playing behind Dobbins to begin the season, Harvey totaled 389 yards from scrimmage and scored six touchdowns. He's now set to have a larger workload for at least the next four games.
