INDEPENDENCE — The No. 1 Cavaliers know they'll kick off their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the No. 4 Indiana Pacers Sunday night, May 4 . But they still don't know if their All-Star point guard will take the floor with them.
Darius Garland remains day-to-day with a big toe sprain and is questionable for Game 1 against the Pacers. Cavs coach Kenny Atkinson has repeatedly noted how difficult that specific injury can be for a basketball player, so Garland's status is still up in the air.
"There's some concern there," Atkinson said, referencing Garland's availability for Game 1. " I could see it go either way."

Atkinson added that Garland has been moving around well while shooting, but he hasn't progressed to contact drills yet.
Garland missed both Games 3 and 4 in Miami , though the Cavaliers hardly needed him to dispatch the Heat in the first round. The Cavs destroyed the Heat in both contests, including a 55-point beat-down to close out the series and secure the most lopsided sweep in NBA playoffs history.
Garland scored 27 points in Game 1 against the Heat and 21 points in Game 2.
