Last season Max Brosmer joined the Minnesota Gophers and put up arguably the best quarterback season in school history. He became an incredibly easy-to-like talent , and was someone to watch at the next level.
Then he went undrafted, and it was as though NFL teams didn't watch his tape . The Vikings came calling, kept him around, and now he's on the roster .

Brosmer continues to put in the work, even to the point Minnesota coaches see him too much . If that's any indication about his future, he's certainly one to keep an eye on.

Max Brosmer called name to know for Minnesota Vikings
If you've paid attention to the MN Vikings during the preseason at all, then you're well aware of what Max Brosmer has done. Not only was he better than Sam Howell, but he may have won the QB2 job despite the addition of Carson Wentz . No matter what, he's poised to make an impact for the future.
Do you think I'm nuts yet? I would have picked do-it-all defensive player Josh Metellus, a 2020 sixth-round draft pick, but you can't write a national feature about a guy and then put him on your under-the-radar list. One thing about going to training camps that is underrated: listening to a really good group of beat writers talk about players coaches love. And in Minnesota, one of them is Brosmer, who made it through cuts and a reshuffling of the backup QB position and now is firmly on a developmental track with the Vikings — albeit low on their depth chart.
Here's The Athletic's Alec Lewis on the 24-year-old Brosmer, who I also thought looked great at joint practices: "There is something real here. Maybe it's a 10-year career as a backup. Perhaps it's more."
While it's nice of The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue to consider Josh Metellus as under-the-radar, he received a contract extension this offseason and has been entrenched as a star in Brian Flores' defense for some time now.
Brosmer is the embodiment of such a designation and to the extent he can certainly carve out a future in the league. Minnesota is hoping that he doesn't see the field with J.J. McCarthy taking the reins as the quarterback of the future. That doesn't mean he can't serve as a stable backup or parlay the early experience into a starting role elsewhere.
