Falcons kicker Younghoe missed a potential game-tying field goal in the final seconds of Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It wasn't Koo's best performance, and while it was only one missed kick, he bounced another attempt off the goal post but it still went through.
Considering Koo's struggles in 2024 (73.5 percent conversion rate), these early season miscues are even more concerning. For reference, the 31-year-old made at least 86.5 percent of his kicks during his first five years in Atlanta.
Head coach Raheem Morris addressed the situation at his Monday afternoon press conference, saying the team planned to bring in competition for Koo.
"We've got to go out there and look. We've got to bring in people to compete," Morris told reporters. "We'll work out some veteran kickers tomorrow, some youngsters."
As for Lenny Krieg, Morris said the young practice squad kicker was in the mix, but the team still wanted to bring in some outside competition. After all, Koo did win the kicking competition against Krieg in training camp.
So which free-agent kickers are available for Atlanta? While there aren't a ton of great options, some are certainly worth a look. Former Panthers kicker Eddy Piñeiro is one option. Piñeiro converted on 84.6 percent of his field goal attempts for Carolina in 2024.
Morris did not have an actual update on Drake London 's shoulder but is optimistic about the fourth-year wide receiver's status following Sunday's injury.
"I feel good about it after talking to him," Morris said of London , but indicated he would know more on Wednesday.
