Georgia football's third-year offensive coordinator Mike Bobo has been heavily criticized for a down 2024 season . The Bulldogs failed to live up to national title expectations in 2024, with the offensive output being a big reason. Despite the criticism, Bobo is under contract for a much longer time than anticipated.
According to the Athens Banner-Herald's Marc Weiszer , Bobo agreed to a one-year contract extension before his 2024 campaign. This means that his contract will expire after the 2026 season instead of the 2025 season. He has two more years left under contract.
On July 1st, Bobo's contract will increase by $100k to $1.503 million. The same will happen in 2026, when he is set to make $1.603 million.
As a result, it's very unlikely Bobo is fired before the 2025 season, since it's more than likely Kirby Smart would've done it by now. However, that doesn't prevent Bobo from being fired after the 2025 season.
Of course, Bobo has vastly different personnel to work with in 2025. Due to starting quarterback Carson Beck transferring to Miami , Gunner Stockton will take the helm at quarterback. Nate Frazier will get the bulk of the carries with Trevor Etienne going to the draft. The Bulldogs have two talented wide receivers transferring in, along with a healthy crop of recruits. Bobo will have to make sure the offensive line can gel together, though, with four projected new offensive starters on the line next year.
