Tennessee announced a promotion within its baseball program on Thursday.
First-year head coach Josh Elander announced a promotion of Josh Reynolds to assistant coach. He served as the Vols' director of pitching performance under former head coach Tony Vitello.
Vitello resigned as Tennessee's head coach on Oct. 22. He was introduced as San Francisco's manager on Oct. 30 in MLB. He served as the Vols' head coach from 2018-25 and won the 2024 national championship.
"We're excited to announce we have promoted Josh Reynolds to be our new pitching coach here at Tennessee," Elander said. "Josh brings elite development skills, attention to detail and a proven ability to help players reach their highest potential. Our pitching staff is in the best of hands moving forward and we can't wait to continue building upon the investment he has made in our student-athletes."
Anderson served as an assistant coach at Tennessee from 2018-25 under Vitello and alongside Elander. He is joining Vitello's staff with the Giants.
"I want to congratulate Frank Anderson on joining coach Vitello's staff in San Francisco," Elander said. "They are a perfect match and we wish them nothing but the best at the big-league level."
