The NFL Trade Deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m., and moves around the league are starting to happen.

The Miami Dolphins , who fired General Manager Chris Grier on Oct. 31, wasted no time. Interim GM Champ Kelly sent edge rusher Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles for a third-round pick , according to The Palm Beach Post's Joe Schad.

Others who could be on the trading block include fellow edge rusher Bradley Chubb , safety Minkah Fitzpatrick , receiver Jaylen Waddle and running back Jaylen Wright .

The Dolphins are 2-7 and headed for another rebuild in the offseason. Still to be determined is the status of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa , who no longer may figure into the team's future plans.

Phillips' contract ends after this season and it was doubtful the Dolphins would give a big, long-term deal for a player who finished the last two seasons on injured reserve.

Asked about a possible trade after Miami's 28-6 loss to Baltimore , Phillips, a former Miami Hurricane, said, "I mean, it's out of my control. I mean, I would love to stay here. If I get traded, I get traded. Just like, that's not up to me."

Phillips, 26, was a first-round pick in 2021. He has three sacks in eight games in 2025. He has 26 sacks in five seasons.

Mike McDaniel weighed in on the trade of Phillips to the Eagles during his Nov. 3 press conference.

“No one wants to lose a good player,” McDaniel said. “But you do things for the best interest of your football team in both the short and long term.”
