The North Carolina Tar Heels are making college football headlines, but not for the right reasons. This time, it involves the love life of new UNC head football coach Bill Belichick.
You likely hear the jokes about Belichick and his much younger girlfriend, Jordon Hudson. "She could be his granddaughter. He's a cradle robber. Belichick is her sugar daddy!" My take on the relationship: if North Carolina's head coach is happy, that's all that matters.
Belichick may be the Tar Heels ' head coach, but Hudson is essentially Bill's right-hand woman . She appears to be involved in several decisions and speaks alongside Bill during interviews, leading people to wonder if Hudson is an unofficial member of the coaching staff.
Belichick and Hudson recently appeared on a CBS Sunday Morning interview April 27, prompting an April 30 response from former NBA player and current analyst Charles Barkley, who is concerned about the UNC football program.
"From what I'm hearing, it's starting to be a very slippery slope," Barkley said on the Dan Patrick Show. "And I never talk about people's personal relationships. That's another rule I got. But I will admit I'm a little concerned with some of the stuff that's going on, and I might actually reach out to him and make sure everything is good. But I am concerned from what I'm hearing because, yeah, it's not a good look right now. I'll admit that."
North Carolina is now Belichick's program, so he is going to run it how he wants to. That's exactly what I imagine Bubba Cunningham envisioned upon the Tar Heels' initial hire.
As long as Belichick is focused on helping turn UNC into a winning program , I don't care what he does. Also knowing Belichick, he probably doesn't give two thoughts about the outside noise surrounding his relationship right now.
