The Ohio State Buckeyes improved to 6-0 following a dominant 34-16 win over the Illinois Fighting Illini . Ryan Day now leads his team into another Big Ten matchup against the 2-4 Wisconsin Badgers.
Earning the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25 Poll for the seventh straight week , Ohio State looks to repeat a national championship win.
The Buckeyes' season remains perfect under first-year starter Julian Sayin . In six games, he's thrown for 1,479 yards , 15 touchdowns, three interceptions and a 188.1 passer rating.
Day once again has Ohio State in line to compete for a Big Ten title, something the program hasn't won since 2020.

On Wednesday, the Paul "Bear" Bryant Coach of the Year Watch list was revealed, and Day was among the 28 head coaches listed, giving him national recognition.
Ohio State football took to X to post about the development, saying ".@ryandaytime has been named to the @bryantawards Coach of the Year Watch List."
According to the award's website, it is given "to a college football coach for contributions that make the sport better for athletes and fans alike by demonstrating grit, integrity and a winning approach to coaching and life – both on and off the field."
Day was one of five Big Ten coaches named, joining Illinois' Bret Bielema, Indiana's Curt Cignetti, Oregon's Dan Lanning and USC's Lincoln Riley.
Day has never won the award before, and the last Ohio State head coach to do so was Jim Tressel in 2002. This year's winner will be presented on Jan. 21, 2026, in Houston, Texas, at the annual Paul "Bear" Bryant Coach of the Year Awards ceremony.
Ohio State is now focused on Wisconsin. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET at Camp Randall Stadium, airing on CBS. ESPN BET places the Buckeyes as 25.5-point favorites.
