Ravens 4th-Year Linebacker Projected as Early Cut Candidate originally appeared on Athlon Sports .
How long do you give a second-round draft pick to catch on in the league before you can label him a "bust?"
For the Baltimore Ravens , it might be three years.
General manager Eric DeCosta selected Michigan Wolverines linebacker David Ojabo with the 45th overall pick in the second round in 2022.
Ojabo saw limited playing time due to injuries in both 2022 and 2023, when he played in just five total games with one start.
Last season, Ojabo appeared in 13 games and totaled just two sacks, nine total tackles with five solo and two for loss and six quarterback hits.
Baltimore could be losing interest in Ojabo with a crowded linebacker room this offseason.
Pro Football & Sports Network believes Ojabo could be a "shocking cut candidate" for the Ravens, although I'm not sure how "shocking" it would be for Baltimore fans.
"It's been a tough go for David Ojabo," PFSN wrote . "A projected first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, he slipped to Round 2 after tearing his Achilles at his Pro Day. Injuries limited him to just five games through his first two seasons, and he only had two sacks in 2024. Ojabo faces steep competition for playing time in the Baltimore Ravens' edge rusher room. Tavius Robinson outperformed him last year, and Adisa Isaac was a third-round pick just last year.
"Factor in Mike Green, the Ravens' second-round pick who had 17 sacks in college last year, and Ojabo projects as a likely cut candidate in 2025."
