- Seattle Seahawks pick Alabama QB Jalen Milroe in NFL draft third round: Highlights, stats
Alabama football 's starting quarterback from the past two seasons is off to the NFL.
Jalen Milroe was selected with the No. 92 overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft Friday by the Seattle Seahawks . Shaun Alexander, the former Alabama running back who played for the Seahawks, announced the pick.
Milroe is the first Alabama quarterback to be selected outside of the first round of the NFL draft since A.J. McCarron was a fifth-round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2015.
Here's what Milroe brings to the Seahawks based on his career with Alabama.
A former four-star quarterback in the 2021 recruiting class out of Katy, Texas, Milroe sat behind Bryce Young for two seasons before it was his time to run the Alabama offense.
When Milroe's turn came in 2023, he made a significant impact, finishing sixth in the Heisman Trophy race with 2,834 passing yards, 532 rushing yards and 35 total touchdowns. Milroe led the Crimson Tide to an SEC title and a College Football Playoff appearance, losing to Michigan in the Rose Bowl.
Milroe's fourth season proved to be more of a struggle. While he had 2,844 passing yards, 726 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns, he threw 11 interceptions – becoming the first Alabama quarterback to throw 10 or more interceptions since Blake Sims in 2014 – and led the Crimson Tide to four losses for the first time since 2007.
Milroe finished with the worst career winning percentage as an Alabama starting quarterback since John Parker Wilson, but had more rushing touchdowns than any other Crimson Tide quarterback in school history. Milroe also left for the NFL with the seventh-most passing yards and the seventh-most passing touchdowns in Crimson Tide history.
While NFL.com calls Milroe "an explosive athlete who is very capable outside the pocket," the Alabama quarterback "lacks accuracy, touch and decision making" inside the pocket, and "anticipation and timing" on his throws, which leads to interceptions and contested throws.
Milroe has an "NFL arm" but would need to "tune his footwork and delivery to improve accuracy on all three levels."

In four seasons at Alabama, Milroe had 6,016 passing yards, 45 passing touchdowns and 20 interceptions, completing 64.3% of his pass attempts.
As a runner, Milroe had 1,577 rushing yards and 33 rushing touchdowns, averaging 4.2 yards per carry.
Height:6-foot-2
Weight:217 pounds
Arm length:30 5/8 inches
Hand length:9 3/8 inches
Jalen Milroe only threw at the NFL combine and did not run any of the drills.
