Steelers S Jabrill Peppers posts cryptic message following zero defensive snaps in Week 4

The Pittsburgh Steelers ' defense looked much improved against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4, but S Jabrill Peppers failed to play a part in it — and he’s since taken to social media in cryptic fashion.

On Wednesday, Peppers posted an adversity-themed message via X — one that some interpreted as bad news for the new Steelers safety, who failed to play a single defensive snap last Sunday.

“Wouldn’t be who/where I am without adversity,” Peppers wrote .

Following Week 3’s win over the New England Patriots , Tomlin praised Peppers’ communication and overall presence — with Pro Football Focus even rating him as the second-highest Steelers defender with a 90.4 grade. Despite his early success with Pittsburgh, Peppers was nowhere to be found vs. the Vikings in Ireland — playing zero snaps on defense and just seven on special teams.

Peppers’ cryptic social media message could be another reference to his rocky exit from the Patriots, but that seems highly unlikely given the recent playtime woes.

Whatever the talented defender was referencing, he is more than deserving of a bigger role on defense moving forward — with no other player better suited for a starting safety role opposite DeShon Elliott than Peppers.
